I have reserved an entire oceanfront hotel in Panama for a retreat in January, 2024. Escape the winter cold to warm and sunny Panama, a country that is full of diversity and rugged beauty. We will be staying in a very special place, where we will have the entire hotel and jungle to ourselves, and are surrounded by luxury. Rates below include Daily yoga/movement, Snorkeling trip to Coiba National Park (a world UNESCO heritage site) 3 healthful meals and snack per day, non-alcoholic drink, infinity pool, volleyball court, sound bath yoga nidra, cacao ceremony with bonfire on the beach, stargazing, and transportation to and from Panama City. You will have the options to add a mangrove sunset tour, surf lessons (this area is known for their world class surfing, and has 2 beaches for advanced and beginner surfers) and kayaking trip to a small island for a picnic and beach day. You can also go horseback riding, explore the surf town of Santa Catalina, and nerd out on birds galore in the mangrove forest along the hotel. This is a jungle paradise. I feel fortunate to have found this place, with hosts who truly curate the experience for us. We will be taken care of in the most delicious ways...memory foam beds and 100% cotton linens, boho-chic accommodations, all the rooms are unique and different. The food is sourced from local fisherman and farmers. The food is healthful, and Anthea (owner) specializes in fun cocktails and fine wine...something for everyone here.

Saturday, January 20, fly into Panama City. Stay at a hotel here (I will provide booking information so we are all near one another, or in the same hotel) and then go out to eat at a partner restaurant curated by the owners of the retreat center. Sunday, depart on a party bus as we head to paradise. Arrive in Santa Catalina in 5.5 hours, and be greeted with jungle hospitality! Stay at Catalina's Retreat for 6 nights, and return to Panama City, Saturday, January 27, for one night, and fly out next day. That makes one full week off from work, but a 9-10 day vacation. It's nice because the time change is only 1 hour difference, so you won't have much jet lag to contend with.
Of course you can extend the front end or back end of the trip to suit your needs.

Bellwoods Inn-double occupancy-Nestled on our stunning 1-acre natural pond, the Bellwoods Inn is The Hideaway’s spin on your traditional cottage or lakehouse, except with more flare. Comprised of 4 spacious hideaways with luxury furnishings, these rooms are for the wildlife lovers. The private screened-in porches overlook the pond and are the perfect place to unwind and experience all of the natural flora and fauna that Catalina’s Hideaway has to offer. Parrots, blue herons, egrets, hawks, hummingbirds, iguanas, lizards, turtles, a wide variety of frogs, crocodiles and cayman are some of our regular sightings.
