Lolo's Angels Partners
with the Bellevue East High School DECA TEAM
"Lending A Hand For Kids With Cancer"

Marianne Timmons, Marissa Danauskas, and Chloe Garcia
Our names are Marissa Danauskas, Chloe Garcia, and Marianne Timmins. We are seniors at Bellevue East High School and we are all Officers in our school's DECA chapter. DECA is a world wide business club whose goal is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for college and careers. One aspect of DECA is the completion and presentation of a wide variety of projects. This year, we are conducting our chapter’s "Community Giving" project, which uses the project management process to raise funds and collect donations to be given to a charity. Being on Lolo’s Angels Junior Board has allowed us to see all the good they do and made us decide to partner with them on our project. We hope to inform the Bellevue community about all the wonderful work being done through Lolo’s Angels and gather support through donations and spreading awareness.

We have a combination of ways that we are trying to help Lolo's Angels for the months of January and February. Please read below about all our projects and consider helping us to help kids with cancer!

Thank you,
Marissa, Chloe, and Marianne

Lolo's Angels' Jr. Board 4th Annual
"Snow Day Toy Drive"
Now through February 19, 2021
Each year, Lolo's Angels' Jr. Board conducts a "Snow Day Toy Drive" for Tweens and Teens with cancer. The goal of this drive is to engage Tweens and Teens intellectually, physically, and emotionally during hospital stays as they fight cancer. Donations drop off during the winter months and Tweens and Teens do not receive as many donations as other ages. Therefore, the Jr. Board hopes to make a difference. Our goal is to provide 50 Tote bags complete with a snuggly blanket, adult coloring book, Lego kit, puzzles, card games, markers, colored pencils, squish/stress toy, an engaging "nightlight" and even a $5 Scooters coffee card to treat a parent to a cup of coffee. Please consider taking a look at our Amazon Wishlist and sending a toy to Lolo's Angels Headquarters (The Hacker House) or dropping off one of the items. Packages can be dropped off or mailed to: 681 Hackberry Road, Omaha, NE 68132
Please share and challenge your co-workers, church group, book club, or sports team to join us in creating JOY for Tweens and Teens with Cancer at Children's Hospital & Medical Center. Just go to this link:
Do you wonder why our logo is the snow angel?
Why would we choose to make snow angels for kids with cancer?

How can making a Snow Angel make a difference for a kid with cancer?

It is easy to understand how isolated a child fighting cancer can feel. It is also difficult to know how to help, but in January 2013, that is exactly what Lolo's classmates did. The simple act of showing up to make a snow angel helped Lolo feel the love of her friends even though she was isolated in the hospital. How?

It is hard to believe that this February marks the 4th year that Lolo's Angels has been in operation. We have been so fortunate to help kids with cancer in Nebraska and celebrate the 4th year of our own daughter, Lolo, being in remission for 4 years since her 2nd battle with pediatric AML. Lolo's Angels has now donated over $125k to pediatric cancer research, pledged $100k to the Children's Survivorship Clinic, and donated over $30k worth of toys and games to Children's Hospital & Medical Center, in addition to now running 57 bone marrow drives, and 7 blood drives. This year one of our greatest accomplishments has been to grow our Jr. Board to over 60 high school students in 11 Omaha area high schools. Our hope is to spread the love of service for kids with cancer with the next generation. None of these accomplishments could have been achieved without the help of every volunteer and donor. All of us together, striving each and every day, can make a difference in the lives of kids with cancer! It is an added bonus that we get to see many of these kids smile when they see our whacky snow angels! Help us this month and have a cheeseburger at Sickie's on February 3rd and flop down and do the #Lolossnowangelchallenge! Let's do this!
