reported on the Diagonal Highway, so we had to go looking. Very soon after we arrived at Boulder Reservoir this morning, we saw a white-topped lump out on the ice. A snowy owl! We were so focused on it that it took a few minutes to see another lump out on the ice. Two snowy owls! We went to all sides of the reservoir to get a better look, but they were both in the middle. When we were over near the marina, one of the owls, who had been flying to various spots on the ice, flew right toward us and landed on a nearby sailboat mast. The rest is history, as they say.
