HFUMC News
Worship with us Sunday Morning at 8:15 or 10:45!
This Sunday, It's Time to Be an Encourager
Last Sunday, we kicked off a new sermon series based in 1 Thessalonians. The first part, First Impressions, led us through the three Ps: the Power of Faith, the Presence of the Holy Spirit, and the Power of Convictions. If you missed it, you can watch it here.

This week, we're taking it a step further and examining how we can be encouraged through faith and also encourage others.

7 Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. - 1 Thessalonias 3: 7
Missionaries in the Making: Let's Pray for our Youth
About two dozen HFUMC Youth and adult leaders are headed to Savannah, Georgia next week as part of a YouthWorks Mission Trip. Youth will do hands-on work projects, partner with local ministries and non profit organizations that serve seniors, children and those experiencing homelessness.

Please join us in praying for the students and coaches, for safe travel, and that the work they do will glorify God and spread the love of Jesus Christ.
New Leadership at Children First Preschool
Sherry Coffman has accepted the position of director for Children First Preschool. She has been a member of the Children First team since 2007, first as a lead teacher and most recently as the assistant director. Prior to joining the Children First team, Sherry established and operated My Friends Place Preschool in Madison, TN. She has three grown sons and two grandsons. Sherry’s desire is to share the love of Jesus with the preschoolers and staff members at Children First.

In addition, Amanda Holzmer has been selected to be the new assistant director. She has served with Children First for seven years.

Please help us congratulate both on their new roles, and join us in covering them with prayers as they begin their new positions.
Project Transformation Needs Summer Help
There's still time to sign up to serve with Project Transformation! This after-school and summer literacy and enrichment program helps countless youth in our community, and they need us to fill some vital roles.

Our goal is to provide 8-10 virtual volunteers each day, July 6, 7, and 8, from 9:45am - 12:15pm, and we need to have these positions filled by this coming Monday, June 21, so the Project Transformation team can get everyone scheduled.

Please note, this is NOT “in person” as it has been in years past. While the students will be at Matthews Memorial, our participation will be virtual. You will read a book and participate in an activity with the students. Each session will last about 45 minutes.

Volunteers must be 16 and older, and everyone over the age of 18 must have a background check completed (if you've had one in the past four years, it will be accepted).

You can volunteer for one, two, or all three days. If you're interested, reach out to Stacy Allen (615-300-5358 or stacymacallen@gmail.com).
Onward Summer Programs for HFUMC Kids and Youth
This summer, we have two awesome opportunities for HFUMC Kids (K - 6th grade) and our Youth (7th grade and up). Both events share the same mission: for our students to LEARN about their faith, understand how to LIVE as Christian Disciples, so that they may go out and CHANGE the world.
