I don't know about you, but I have an abundance of things to be thankful for this year. Let me share just a few.
I'm thankful for family. As most of you know, we welcomed my first grandchild into our family this year. We also had to say goodbye to a special loved one, confident we will say hello again. Family is precious and the time we have with them is such a gift from God.
I'm thankful for my church. For the people and relationships that I have experienced and that I see in action weekly at New Hope. It is such a gift to belong to a community of believers who genuinely care about each other, who give generously, who look forward to the work God is doing and are eager to join Him.
I'm thankful for my calling. I'm thankful that we are all called to "go", to put our faith into action, and to make new disciples, striving to make sure all have heard about the sacrificing love and hope found in Christ. I'm thankful that as we work better together in kingdom efforts, God is using all of it for His glory and to expand His eternal family.
But mostly, I'm thankful that Jesus makes all of this possible and purposeful. I'm thankful that Jesus uses flawed, broken, insecure people to show His saving love with a hurting world.
This Thanksgiving, no matter the circumstances, no matter the challenges, no matter the losses, take time to identify the good gifts from God and give thanks for them.
