So Much to Do, So Much to Say!
First Sunday Breakfast
Greetings!  There is much going on!  I'd like to start by reminding you that this Sunday will be the culmination of our Time and Talent part of our Stewardship 2020 campaign, Giving Together, Growing Together.  We extended this by a week because of the postal delays from Storm Imelda. You can go online to read up about any and all ministries by clicking on the "Ministries" box on the front page of our website for a Ministry Catalog and you can also find a "Plug Me In" pledge just below on the front page of our site.  Stewardship is an important moment in the life of our church when we all consider how we can be a part of the robust ministry we share at Holy Spirit!  I look forward to lifting up your Time and Talent pledges and sharing in ministry with you in 2020! ...

This past Spring, you were invited to "take stock in our youth" by sponsoring them for their summer mission trips.  This Sunday at our First Sunday Breakfast you will have a chance to hear from our youth about all the ways they served and all the places that they encountered God in their ministry.  You don't have to be a "stockholder" to come to breakfast, though!  These young people went forth on behalf of the whole Holy Spirit community.   Come to breakfast on Sunday at 9:15 to celebrate and learn all that they did and experienced this summer.  We will also take the opportunity to pack bags for our Blessings in a Backpack program.  Last month we gathered a record breaking 2079 packets of oatmeal through your donations.  Come and help us bag that food so that our children will have a good breakfast next weekend.  In celebration of all the work this past summer, we will also have an Open House for our new Blessings in a Backpack community room.  So, join us Sunday morning for breakfast and so much more!

This Sunday after church, Fr. Dale will be meeting with anyone who is interested in taking communion to members of our church who are unable to come on Sunday mornings. This is a wonderful ministry and a blessing to all involved.  All are welcome to come, learn about, and consider what it means to be a Lay Eucharistic Minister.

Then on Wednesday, I'd like to invite you to join me for a cup of coffee.  I will be hanging out at the new Starbucks on Memorial Drive near Wilcrest (not the small one near the church) from 7:30 until 9:00 am.  This is an informal chance to chat and start the day together.  You can drop in whenever is convenient and leave when you need.  I look forward to seeing you there!

I am ever grateful for sharing with you in the ministry of Holy Spirit.  I pray that as we offer our lives to God's ministry in this place that we will be fed with and awareness of the joy God takes in what we do together.

See you in church,

Joshua Condon signature

The Enneagram is a model of 9 interconnected personality type s which stands apart from other personality typing systems because of its unique focus on spiritual growth. It is a tool that helps us to shape the path between our relationships with ourselves and one another, and the path in our relationship with God.

The book "The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery" (Cron/Stabile) as our guide during this six-session series.
