I guess it might be the same with most jobs but somehow I think running the farmers market is different. I LOVE my job and I look forward to being at the market every Saturday, even if there's wind, snow, rain or a hurricane.
As the seasons change, so does the market; the temperature shifts, the produce changes, shrimp season ends, oyster season begins, customers go north, south, west and east and most return. Louis and I and the vendors are like family. We've had several market babies, some vendors have left to open brick and mortars, some have been transferred and sadly we've had some to move on. So, it is with a tinge of sadness that I share with you that George Cannon, Mr. Camellia, a family member and wonderful friend, is retiring from the farmers market. ☹️
