News and Updates📰

  • Don't forget to vote. Election day is tomorrow, November 3.

  • The new immigration fees were set to take effect on October 2, howeverJudge Jeffrey S. White of the Federal District Court for the Northern District of California has enjoined the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from enforcing its new fee rule. Judge White held that the plaintiffs are likely to succeed in their challenge to the fee rule on the grounds that Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf was improperly appointed to his position and therefore was not authorized to issue the rule. This is GREAT NEWS, you still have time to file your naturalization at the current fees before they eventually increase. The time is now! Contact us today to schedule a consultation.

  • Immigration courts have resumed as of September 14, 2020 for non-detained cases. Individual hearings only. Master calendar hearings are not being scheduled yet;

Fall Back 🍂
We have approached the end of daylight savings. Yesterday, we turned the clocks back an hour. This means that we got an "extra" hour of sleep. But it also means that is getting darker earlier. Daylight saving time begins again on March 14, when we "spring forward".

Remember to adjust your clocks! 🕒
Facebook Live
We had really interesting Facebook Lives this month! We would like to thank all the guests for their enthusiastic participation.

The month started with our first Facebook live in Portuguese. Attorney Mubarak and his assistant Jessica Opferman answered the main questions sent by our followers. In the sequence, we had our Facebook live in Arabic with our special guest and community leader Basma Alawee. To close down the month, Attorney Nayef Mubarak invited Attorney Richard Schwamm for a conversation about medical malpractice litigation.

If you missed any of our lives this month, you can now watch on our website, Facebook, or Youtube channel.

If you enjoy our videos, make sure to like and subscribe! 👍

Our Facebook live happens every Thursday at 6:30 PM.
Don't just take our word for it.
