July 31 Coles County Fair ITPA Illinois Tractor Pulling, 7pm. The Fair is located at 603 W. Madison, Charleston.
August 1 Mattoon Library presents Movies in Lytle Park, this week "The Parent Trap"
- Grab your lawn chair and friends to enjoy the last of the summertime Movies in Lytle Park. The free movie this week starts at dark and is sure to be a fan favorite.
August 1 Bagel Bites & Mattoon Made, Heritage Park 4-8pm
- Last Bagel Bite of the season- and features a showcase of MAT-TUNES talents LIVE. And to top it all of there will be a "house band" that includes some of yours and our favorite musicians. Vendors open at 4, music at 6. And don't forget there will be alcohol for purchase at Luigi's , Little Mexico, La Luna and Hunan's that can be brought into the park to enjoy during the event. This event is free and open to the public.
August 1-3 Flea Market at the Cross County Mall
- Vendors are set up in the mall with collectibles, along with handmade goods! Open during Mall hours at 700 Broadway Ave. East in Mattoon.
August 2 Butterfly Festival, Lake Charleston, 11am
August 2 Jeep Run for Alzheimer's, Dirty's Bar and Grill
- Take-off is at 11:00 AM SHARP. Registration/Donuts/T-shirts/Silent Auction starts at 9 AM. Save time & traffic back up & pre-register if you can. You can pre-register any time at Villas of Holly Brook in Charleston.
August 2 Coles County Fair Tom Jones Memorial Bull Ride, 7pm. The Fair is located at 603 W. Madison, Charleston.
August 3-9 Experience Mattoon Restaurant Week
- Experience something new during Experience Mattoon Restaurant Week, August 3-9, 2025. Each participating business will offer a special menu, limited-edition dish, or discount that will ONLY be available during Restaurant Week. Best of all, every participating business is owned and operated by Mattoon residents. Mattoon has a wide variety of cuisine. We hope you'll try them all.
