Alert & Warning Systems Test on September 5
On Thursday, September 5th, the County of Sonoma will be conducting a TEST of three alert and warning systems, including the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system, SoCoAlert, and the National Weather Service NOAA Weather Radio System, from 10:00am until 11:10am. During this testing period, residents and visitors within the communities of Healdsburg, Cloverdale, and Geyserville will receive a phone call or an alert on their mobile device.

Sonoma Ready Day is Sunday!
Please join us!

The County of Sonoma has created a space where you can learn about different topics related to emergency response and preparedness from experts, all in one place.

Sonoma Ready Day will offer emergency resources, demonstrations, short lectures, emergency vehicle displays, and tools to educate and empower you to withstand and recover from emergencies.

Join us on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Admission and parking are free and 2,400 emergency preparedness kits will be given out for free on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Sonoma County releases 2018 Crop Report

The 2018 Sonoma County Crop Report was preseneted to the Board of Supervisors on August 20, 2019. This year's Crop Report represents a historic milestone as it is the first time Sonoma County's gross agricultural crop value exceeded one billion dollars.

Local Coastal Photo Contest Winners Announced
Congratulations to the winners of the Coastal Close-Up Photo Contest highlighting the Sonoma Coast.

Permit Sonoma recently held a photo contest to highlight the beautiful Sonoma Coast in preparation for publication of the updated draft Sonoma County Local Coastal Plan.

Sheep grazing and monitoring at Calabazas
Several hundred sheep have arrived at Calabazas Creek Open Space Preserve. They will spend the next several weeks grazing the approximately 50 acres of grassland. The grazing aids in vegetation management and helps remove invasive plant species.

The Calabazas Creek Open Space Preserve overlooks the Valley of the Moon and is owned and maintained by Sonoma County Ag + Open Space. Guided tours are available.
