We will paint a mural in the Troy and I65 underpass on Indy Do Day, Sept. 29. We seek ways to incorporate art and banners throughout the Shelby St. Corridor. We work to create the Shelby Street Village concept.

August 26: SoIndy Back to School and Trades Demonstration Event .
The SoIndy Education and Workforce Development Action Team is partnering with Garfield Park to plan a family Back to School and Trades Demonstration Event. According to , trades jobs are anticipated to grow faster than the national average of all jobs at 11% over the next 10 years. The median annual wage among skilled trades jobs is around $42,000.

South Indy neighbors are encouraged to bring the entire family to the Corporate Shelter in Garfield Park on Sunday, August 26, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. There will be free back-to-school supplies in our SoIndy tote bags. Participants will get to learn about local trades careers with hands on demonstrations.
Free Annual Bus Passes for Veterans
To register, veterans must complete the enrollment process in person at the Julia Carson Transit Center,  201 E. Washington St . Veterans must fill out an application, provide proof of eligibility (DD214 or VA ID) pay $2.00 fee, and have a photo taken at the Transit Center Customer Service desk.
