South Miami PD looking at a new home
The city is taking steps towards building a new South Miami Police Department headquarters. The good news is the city won't have to look very far to find a new site. That's because it already owns it. The proposed site is the old city inspection site on 58th and SW 69th Street. The City’s Public Works Department has been working on cleaning the area surrounding the current building.

In addition to a new police station, the City is also looking to build an Emergency Operation Center on the same site. The City has already begun the process of searching for firms to design and build the new facility.
