6th Annual Women Rock Science Gala | Get Your Tickets Today | Oct. 11, 2023

Why Women Rock Science?

Despite making up nearly half of the U.S. workforce, women are still vastly underrepresented in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) workforce. The Institute’s STEAM initiatives seek to close this gap by inspiring all children to pursue STEAM careers with an emphasis on young women.

Since 2018, Women Rock Science has raised over $1 Million dollars towards STEAM educational opportunities! These dollars directly support the Institute’s many STEAM outreach programs to students in underserved communities across Michigan. Your support at this year’s event means:

  • 3,000+ students will receive field trips to the Institute for STEAM programming.
  • 1,000+ hands-on science kits will be delivered to classrooms in underserved communities.
  • 40+ high school internships to Cranbrook Institute of Science for students from underserved communities.
  • 30+ children undergoing cancer treatment will experience a private science camp experience.
  • 25+ summer camp scholarships for girls interested in STEAM at Cranbrook Institute of Science.
