A New Beginning:

Solomon’s Decision to Follow Christ

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Philippians 1:6

For a year and a half now, we have been serving in the hills of Paraíso. It was on our first trip that we learned about Solomon. His mother explained the heartbreaking situation their family faced: Solomon struggled with drug addiction, and their home had been emptied of anything that could be traded for drugs. Earlier this year, I asked Solomon for permission to pray for him. When I inquired about his needs, he initially replied that everything was "good."

I've had the privilege of sharing my testimony and the gospel with him on other occasions, but his heart wasn't ready. Fast forward to this past Thursday when I asked him again how I could pray for him. His response opened the door to another opportunity to share the gospel. He expressed a desire for prayer to help him stop using drugs and admitted uncertainty about his eternal destination. After about 20 minutes of conversation, Solomon made the decision to give his life to Jesus. We are overjoyed for him and his family, as this is the most important decision he will ever make.

Additionally, we provided Solomon with a solar-powered audio Bible so he can hear God’s Word regularly.

Moving forward, we will continue checking on Solomon and helping him connect with a local church to support his growth, especially since he cannot read. Please join us in praying for Solomon and for the ongoing work the Lord is doing in Paraíso.

Passion in the Kitchen:

Chef Ramsey’s Visit to Comedor Genesis

We had the privilege of having Chef Ramsey join us to help prepare a delicious hot meal for the needy families at Comedor Genesis. Ramsey and his helpers made an amazing mac & cheese! “I can spot within the first 15 minutes of a young chef in the kitchen whether they’re passionate…” - Gordon Ramsay. Well, we can tell you from this experience that Chef Ramsey was very passionate and did amazing! Thank you, little chef!
