Dear Soccer Families,

For almost one year, the pandemic has shut-down the sports community in Lawrence. While other towns have been able to return to some in-person play, our City's higher Covid-19 rates have necessitated a slower return. We greatly miss our players and families and hope this message finds you healthy and ready to re-engage, move and play with us this spring or summer. We've been working hard behind the scenes to be better, stronger, and more unified when we're back on the fields & courts.

Our Beyond Volley Directors, Marino & Leti Valdez, will be coaching girl's volleyball at Lawrence High School beginning Monday, March 1st. That is very encouraging. Their practices will be the first in-person sports opportunities approved by the City. Their success as well as the continued lowering of Covid-19 infection rates will help our efforts bringing back youth sports in some capacity this spring. Thank you for being part of our sports family.

Update on City-wide
Recreational Program
(Ages 4-12)
We are still waiting for the City to approve Lawrence Travel Soccer for return this April. Because our team registrations are due to the Essex County Youth Soccer League, we want to be ready if/when we get that approval to return in some capacity (i.e. small-sided games, local tournaments). We need to know if you/your child will participate when we get that green light. Please click HERE to reserve or confirm your spot/interest!

Like Travel play, we are also waiting for the City to approve our Rec League soccer program to return in mid-April. This approval will be directly dependent upon lower COVID-19 rates in the City. We are hopeful that we'll be able to hold small, in-person groups, or sports pods, following CDC and city-specific guidelines that will be implemented and shared ahead of time with families.

Update on Summer Programs & Clinics
If you know you/your child is interested in participating in our summer camps and clinics, please reserve your spot HERE! More information to follow with new safety protocols and procedures
Much like our travel & rec league, our summer camps & clinics including the Sport & Wellness Academy (new sports in 2021), & Lawrence Sports Leadership Academy brought to the City by the new Lawrence Sports Alliance (more info coming!) will also depend on city guidelines. We anticipate our in-person activities to be limited in size, but not in quality or FUN!
COVID-19 Information and Resources Re Safe PLAY
When we return to in-person play, we will be following not only local and state guidelines, but Mass Youth Soccer protocols as well. Some key protocols that will be followed: Players will likely be required to wear a mask during play and can only take masks off when 6 ft apart for water breaks. All spectators will be required to wear masks, and only one spectator will be allowed per player. Click HERE for more detail to help you make your return to play decision.
