Re: "Way of the Cross: Ending Gun Violence in MA"
Date: Good Friday
This Holy Week we witnessed the first mass shooting in a New York City subway. We have also heard of the fatal police shooting of Patrick Lyoya which is under investigation by Michigan State Police. It is meet, right and our duty to bring the epidemic of gun violence to the cross of Jesus Christ.

This virtual Way of the Cross includes seven congregations/missions in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and seven in Western Massachusetts. Many of these reflections include the personal impact of gun violence.

Even as we enter these stories, it is important to see glimpses of resurrection. The President recently announced new regulations that will crack down on "ghost guns." But there is so much more to do. We invite you to pray the Way of the Cross today and to be witnesses to the suffering that gun violence brings. Pray for the lives cut short. Pray for the mothers who, like Mary, have to bury their children. Pray for the communities that have to pass the sites of gun violence every day. And pray, we ask, for those who have the legislative power to bring real solutions to bear on this other tragic pandemic.
