Join MDSC's Higher Ed

SOCIAL MEDIA DAY!

Let's Make Our Voices Heard

The time to change the future of higher education is NOW!

Let's work together on June 22nd to change the future of education for our loved one's with Down syndrome!

This WEDNESDAY will be dedicated to advocating for Higher Education rights! We need you to contact your state legislators on June 22nd and ask them to voice their support of higher education legislation to members of the appointed Conference Committee - we need these important laws to remain in the FINAL version of the FY23 State Budget!

Directions on how to participate below!

Be sure to include a photo or video of your loved one with Down syndrome, and your legislators WILL pay attention!

2 Ways to Participate:

#1 Post on your Social Media!

  1. Identify Your State Rep. and State Senator - Go to MDSC's Legislative Action Center here, where you can enter your information. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page to find “Your State Officials” (the last two names).
  2. Find them on Social Media search for your legislators on social media and find their social media "handles" (for example, MDSC's Facebook handle is @massdscongress & Twitter handle is @themdsc).
  3. Compose your Post Now, you're ready to post! Check out our #HigherEdforAll templates that we’ve drafted that you can use to compose your post.
  4. Make it personal! Personalize your post by tagging your legislators' social media handles (using the @ symbol). Tweak our templates to include a personal detail and include a photo or video of your loved one.

Legislators need to see why these laws are crucial to include and who they will impact — including a PHOTO or VIDEO will go a long way!

Pro Tips:

  • In addition to tagging your legislators, tag MDSC (@themdsc on Twitter; @massdscongress on Facebook).
  • Use the hashtag #HigherEdForAll in your posts.
