Good News Family & Friends,
Before I get into answering questions about Halloween (i.e., Where did it come from? Should we celebrate?) and, What exactly is "Reformation Day?" I want to be sure to invite you all to come hang out with us THIS Saturday, Nov. 2 at Elixir Brew Co. for our Georgia vs. Florida - Football Watch Party (3:30pm) followed by our Church Social with live music from John Hightower (6:30pm - 9:30pm).
Also, THIS Wednesday, Oct. 30 (aka on "Reformation Day Eve"), all men are invited to an evening of masculine comraderie with the brethren of Good News Church GA. We'll gather at the Hillside Man Cave (6:30pm - 9pm) for thick steaks, delicious German beers (or A&W Root Beers), and the true, inspiring movie, Luther. If you're planning to attend, please RSVP David Fearon at 770-403-2453, so we can reserve you a steak. Be there or be a heretic! :)
Where did Halloween come from? Should we celebrate?
To answer that question, I've written a brief article that gives background as to the history of Halloween and a few thoughts as to whether Christians should celebrate it. To read the article and for ideas and resource on how to connect with neighbors this Halloween, click here.

INSPIRATION
Verse of the Week
"For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith.'” - Romans 1:17 (NOTE: This is the verse that Martin Luther read and opened the eyes of his heart that salvation is by faith and not by works.)
Quotes of the Week
“God made man out of nothing. As long as we are nothing, He can make something out of us.” - Martin Luther (NOTE: Luther was an amazing hymn writer. One of my favorites is this Christmas song, All Praise to You. Listen and bask in these rich lyrics).

VISION & VALUES
The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.
MISSION
The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."
