Socializing is Now Lonnie’s Favorite Part of School 
Lonnie S. likes coming to his high school and socializing, but that wasn’t always the case. At his previous school, he was bullied and struggled both socially and academically. That all changed when he transferred to Learn4Life. “This school is more welcoming and the teachers are so understanding,” he explained. “It’s such a positive environment. My principal and teachers encouraged me to make better decisions and they guided me in the right direction.” 
What Every Parent Needs to Know about Social Media and the Holidays 
The holidays can be the most wonderful time of year, but for some it can be a toxic time, full of anxiety and endless scrolling. Studies show social media use among children spikes about 70% during the holiday season, for a total of more than eight hours per day. 
 
“But not everything about social media has to be negative. There are some positive aspects,” explained Jaspreet Kaur, school counselor. “Parents need to be aware of what social media platforms their teens are on, encourage them to reduce their time online and look for new ways to interact both on and offline.” She offers these tips for parents...
