ONE TEAM, ONE DREAM 2021 LIMITED EDITION T-SHIRT

Limited edition Spirit shirt made just for adults! This is a great shirt to wear when volunteering, attending field trips, or just out in the community sporting your #SAProud. ALL proceeds from this shirt will go back into the classroom to support teaching.

Masking and other mitigation strategies will be revisited at the August BOD meeting - August 11th at 730pm.

Save the date! The PFI’s biggest fundraiser is back! Matthews Alive will take place in downtown Matthews September 3-6. Socrates Academy PFI receives funding for staffing a game throughout the festival and we are thrilled to offer double volunteer hours for a weekend event. Each shift requires two individuals, and children 12 and older can work with an adult. Sign up coming soon!

Want to work earn volunteer hours from home? PFI is looking for a rep who will serve as the point of contact between the PFI and Matthews Alive coordinators, as well as help coordinate volunteers for the event.

Socrates Athletics
Friday August 13th- 5pm-6:30pm in SA GYM
Open gym workout for all MS girls interested in trying out for Volleyball. Coach Guseman would love to meet and practice skills before official try outs. This is OPTIONAL. Players will be required to wear a mask while participating. 

Tuesday August 17th- 4pm-5:30pm
MS Coed Cross Country will have their 1st official practice. Please meet Coach Kinslow in front of the SA GYM. Athletic shorts, shoes and water bottle will be needed. Coach Kinslow will address practice/meet schedules, and forms needed. 
 
Tuesday August 17th- 3:30pm-5:30pm 
MS Boys Soccer will have 1st Day of Try Outs. Players are to meet at Hellenic Park 2700 Mckee Rd. Charlotte NC. Players will need athletic top and bottoms, cleats/shin guards and water bottle.

MS Girls Volleyball will have 1st Day of Try Outs. Players are to meet at SA Gym. Players will need athletic top and bottoms, knee pads, and water bottle. Masks are required indoors.

MS Boys Soccer will have 2nd Day of Try Outs. Players are to meet at Hellenic Park 2700 Mckee Rd. Charlotte NC. Players will need athletic top and bottoms, cleats/shin guards and water bottle.

*No sports forms are needed until Try outs are concluded. Once teams are finalized, Coaches will pass our practice/game schedules, and needed sports forms. Parents are welcome to get ahead and schedule annual sports physicals a with their physicians as this is a requirement for all players.

Faculty and scholars are required to universally mask indoors - regardless of vaccination status.

U8- 4v4, 8 per Team | U10- 7v7, 10 per Team
U12- 9v9, 14 per Team

Weekday Practices: (1 weekly) begin September 6th - Hellenic Park 2700 Mckee Rd (Times: TBD)
Games: Saturdays only, beginning September 18th at Brace Family YMCA
