The Annual Fund Campaign is our primary opportunity for families to participate in the continued success of our school by helping to bridge the gap left by state and local funding. Your gift supports existing educational programs, new curriculum development, improves facilities, and essential needs of our school.
GREEK CELEBRATION

Our Greek Letters Day celebration will be held on Wednesday, February 9th at 1:45pm. You are invited to view the celebration on our SA YouTube page.
OUTSIDE RECESS

Scholars will go outside for physical activity each day as long as the temperature is not 35 degrees or below. Please make sure your scholar comes with a jacket or sweatshirt.
4TH & 5TH GRADE FAMILIES

Join us for Preparing for MS Night on Thursday, February 17th 6pm in the Middle School MPR.

We will give a brief overview of our Middle School program and answer any questions about Middle School at Socrates Academy.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ENTRY
We have a new security buzzer outside of the middle school exterior door. If you need to visit our middle school office, look for this box on the exterior right hand side. Buzz and Mrs. Morgan will assist you.

Our staff and students have been instructed not to hold the door to allow adults or students who do not go to Socrates into the building.
If a student or staff member does not hold the door for you as you approach, please know they are not being impolite - this is a measure of security that helps to keep everyone safe!
SA Athletics - Spring Season

SA Middle School Girls Soccer Try Outs:
Monday February 14th and February 15th at Hellenic Park. Try Outs will begin at 3:45pm-5:00pm. Hellenic Park- 2700 Mckee Rd.  
If weather does not permit, we will have tryouts in the SA GYM. Please pack comfortable shoes if we are inside. 
*Reminder all SA Athletes are required to be Covid Screened each week
  
SA Middle School Coed Track
We will have our first practice on Tuesday March 1st. There are no Try Outs for Track. Runners will meet in front of SA Gym at 4:00pm. Practice will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00-5:15pm. Coach Tyler Miller will be our SA Track. 
 
SA Middle School Coed Golf

Elementary Coed Soccer - Divisions: U6 - U8 - U10. *SA will not offer 12u*​
Our SA Scholars will have the opportunity to play soccer within the Brace YMCA Spring Soccer League. Practices will be Wednesdays at 4:00-5:00pm. Games are played on Saturdays. Practices start week of March 16th, with games played March 26th- May 21st. Registration ends February 25th.

SOCRATES BOWLING TEAM?

WANTED - MS - HS students interested in a Spring bowling team/club at Bowlero Matthews. Times/Dates/Prices TBD as we are just reaching out to see who may be interested in developing their skills, NO experience or equipment needed just enthusiasm for laughing, and competing with friends, as we knock down some pins for fun and develop our skills. 
 
Hoping to form a conference bowling league where prospective team members can earn college scholarship money!

CANDY GRAMS

Show your friends and the Socrates staff how you feel with a thoughtful and delicious treat. Socrates PFI will be selling Ring Pops for K-4 and Brownies for 5-9th raise funds for programs to support our teachers. Please consider contributing $1-2 to help make our fundraiser a success. Pre-order for treats will go on sale next week (stay tuned for more details!). Treats will be delivered on Monday, February 14th.
MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE
Our Dance Committee has been working hard to plan our next Middle School Dance which will be held towards the end of March, instead of February. We are hoping to hold the dance outdoors in the picnic area.

DROP OFF RESCHEDULED!

The PFI monthly carpool snack, drink, and $5 gift card drop off is coming on Friday, February 11th (due to the rain) during afternoon pickup. We'll meet you at your car in carpool line to collect your donations of snacks and drinks for teacher workrooms, as well as $5 gift cards. We love making engagement a part of your day!
SOUND TECH NEEDED
The Theatre Dept is searching for someone who can volunteer a short amount of time to come in and tweak our sound system settings.
