Please Support Our Annual Fund
The Annual Fund Campaign is our primary opportunity for school families to participate in the continued success of our school by helping to bridge the gap left by state and local funding. This fund supports existing educational programs, new curriculum development, improves facilities, and supports essential needs of Socrates Academy.

Families in Need
If you would like to Donate to Help our Socrates Families In Need. This money would be used for a Socrates Student Family or Staff Member who may be struggling with job loss, food insecurity or utility help. The Pandemic has created a lot of loss for the world and this our way of helping our Socrates Families in Need.

Get Involved with Socrates PFI!

We need Homeroom Parents! HRPs will support the teacher and classroom in a variety of ways throughout the year. It’s a great way to build a relationship with your child’s teacher and get to know other families. Fill out the form to volunteer!
The Socrates Academy PFI is looking for a Vice President of Student and Family Engagement. The VP is the point of contact for Homeroom Parents and helps develop and organize fun ways to create a sense of unity among students and families. The VP is an officer within the PFI and has a vote on all PFI issues. This is a great way to get involved and build relationships within the school community. Email socratespfi@gmail.com for more details.
Drama teacher Kadey Ballard says that she gets better participation from students over ZOOM when holding theater movement sessions than she does in the classroom! A few younger siblings come in and start dancing too (around 12:50 minutes in). See how much fun we are having!

Join the Big South 5K Road Race

The Big South 5K Road Race will be held VIRTUALLY October 18th – October 31st! This race is held each year and 100% of the proceeds are dedicated to support local middle school athletic programs in the Mecklenburg, Union, and York counties. Hosted as a virtual event for the first time, this year’s race is proud to have a new title sponsor in Hercules Tires, involvement of all 14 Big South member and affiliate member institutions, and new youth charities within each school’s home market receiving proceeds from the race!

Participants will have a two-week window to run or walk the 5K wherever they may be -- on a track, local neighborhood, running trail, park or a treadmill -- and simply record and submit their time online. Registration begins Monday, August 31st , at the official race website, www.BigSouth5K.com

If you run, make sure to list Socrates Academy is the Middle School you are supporting so we receive the credit!
Join the Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees (Socrates Academy Foundation) is seeking individuals willing to dedicate some of their energy and talent to the continued success and growth of Socrates Academy.

As Socrates Academy Foundation seeks to grow its fundraising efforts for the capital needs of the school, it is imperative to secure new board members with expertise in any of the following: fundraising, project management and financing. The Board would like to identify a candidate who can fill the role of a Treasurer. The Board is currently seeking to onboard 2-4 new members.

Potential candidates should anticipate being able to participate in monthly board meetings which occur the second Wednesday of each month at 6pm. Additionally, candidates should consider having occasional availability for planning meetings for the school’s potential expansion.

Interested candidates should email the Boards of Trustees President at gcarson@socratesacademy.us
