Please Support Our Annual Fund
The Annual Fund Campaign is our primary opportunity for school families to participate in the continued success of our school by helping to bridge the gap left by state and local funding. This fund supports existing educational programs, new curriculum development, improves facilities, and supports essential needs of Socrates Academy.

Student Home Internet Access

If your child does not have access to either of the following, please email your homeroom teacher.
  • Home Internet Access
  • A computer, ipad, tablet or any other device, (not a phone) that they may use to access the internet.
  • A printer

Patience in Carpool

We have changed our afternoon carpool procedures. Please be patient during carpool, as we try to get all of our students out of the building safely and with limited contact with each other.
Union County Boil Water Advisory

We are aware that we have a large population of students who live in Union County. Socrates Academy is located in Mecklenburg County. Due to the “boil water advisory” currently in place in Union County we are asking that all teachers have their scholars refrain from using their individual water bottles (with the exception of sealed store bought water) and that they be allowed to use the water fountains instead. Mr. Tatsis cleaned all water fountains this morning, he will clean them at noon, and he will clean them at the end of the school day. This cleaning will continue daily. If a student has a need for water in the classroom bottled water will be provided today. We will gladly accept water bottle donations, disinfectant cleaning spray, hand sanitizer, or disinfectant wipes. Please inform a teacher at carpool drop off or pick up, and we will get carts to bring them to the buildings. Thank you!
Help Us Celebrate Diversity

We are so proud of the diversity at our school!

Please take a minute to fill out the survey so we can learn more about your heritage. All answers will be plotted on a map and posted for visitors to see.

Socks and Underwear Donations

We have had a supply of extra children's' socks and underwear in the nurses office for any child in need of a change of clothes but our supply is running low. If you are able to donate clean, unused socks or underwear, please send them in with your child or bring them to either front office. Thank you for helping us take care of the children!

This Week at Socrates Academy
Kids, this comic is for you. NPR education reporter Cory Turner asked some experts what kids might want to know about the new coronavirus discovered in China. To make this comic, we've used his interviews with  Tara Powell  at the University of Illinois School of Social Work,  Joy Osofsky  at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and  Krystal Lewis  at the National Institute of Mental Health.
