Please Support Our Annual Fund
The Annual Fund Campaign is our primary opportunity for school families to participate in the continued success of our school by helping to bridge the gap left by state and local funding. This fund supports existing educational programs, new curriculum development, improves facilities, and supports essential needs of Socrates Academy.

A Note from Newberry

We have completed the first week of distance learning, and it has been a learning experience for staff, students, parents, and administrators. We appreciate all of the hard work and understanding as we make our way through this uncharted territory. Along the way, we have heard praise and constructive feedback from parents which is very much appreciated. With week 2 around the corner (and the end of quarter 3 on Friday, March 20), we want to provide parents with information regarding our commitment to providing instructional materials that are “reviewable, relevant, and reasonable”. Middle school students should be spending no more than 30 minutes a day on each of their 7 classes (total of 3.5 hours per day). With the exception of Compact math classes and Math I/II, students will be completing assignments that are a review of previous work from the third quarter. Furthermore, grade levels will be having virtual PLCs where they will be able to collaborate and share what parents and students are saying so that we can adjust accordingly. Thank you all again for your ongoing support as we continue to refine our online learning experience.

Hot Lunch

As news was received about Socrates Academy school closing, I have been actively working on the best way forward. Payments can be credited and/or refunded as chosen by each family. There are two options listed below that are available at this time.

One, if you choose to have the money refunded, please email me at dingram@socratesacademy.us and that action will be taken. Refunds will take a few days as I will have to create reports to gather all necessary information. The refunds will be directly from PayPal, and, according to them, it can take up to two weeks (it usually just takes a couple of days) for you to see the refund on your credit/debit card initially used.

Two, if you choose to let your funds roll over and receive a credit for use when we do return to school, no action is needed. Credits will show up automatically within the next two weeks.

All orders for the remainder of March (including today) and April will be cancelled and credits/refunds will be made accordingly. This will take a bit of time as it is a lot of data to filter through.

In the event we return to school in April, I will create a menu and open up ordering with as much notification as I receive from the Board of Directors and the administration.

Please stay healthy and safe. Also, I will respond to emails only at this time as it is the most efficient way to communicate and it keeps my personal phone open for my family. Your patience is appreciated as things may take a little longer than normal so that I can see to the health and safety of my family.

Thank you all for your understanding, your consideration and patience during this challenging time! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. And, please let me know if I can assist you in any way going forward.

With warm regards,
Daniese Ingram
