Congratulations Socrates Academy!

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has awarded Socrates Academy the Academic Growth Award for the 2016-2017 school year. Academic growth is obtained by Scholars, Parents, Teachers, Administration and the Board of Directors working together in education. Congratulations team! We did it!

Spelling Bee

The Socrates Spelling Bee will be held for grades 3rd - 8th in-class the week of December 8th. Parents of winners will be invited to attend the school-wide bee January 11, 2018. Practice lists for Spelling Bees can be found online.

Afternoon Greek Classes

Socrates Academy is proud to offer Advanced Greek Language class for any students that are interested in taking the Ellinomatheia Exam! Students do not have to be enrolled at Socrates Academy to attend classes.

Wednesdays, 4:15 - 5:15 p.m.

Duration: November 29, 2017 - May 9, 2018.

$300 paid in full by the first class on November 29th.*

Socrates Gingerbread House Competition

Houses will be displayed in the Socrates Academy Middle School and then given charitably to brighten others over the holiday.

Contest begins: Wednesday, November 15th and is open to Socrates and extended famlies.
Submissions due: Tuesday, December 5th
Contest judging: Wednesday, December 6^th.
Public viewing: Thursday, December 7^th from 3:45 - 6:00pm.
Winners announced: Wednesday, December 6^th.

Paint for the PFI!

Do you love to paint the school rock?? Are you creative, artistic, and looking to fulfill your volunteer hours doing something you love? Here's your chance! PFI's Special Events committee is looking for one or two people who would paint the rock twice a month - once for Chic-Fil-A Spirit Nights (prior to 2nd Tues of each month) and once for Midwood Smokehouse (prior to 4th Wed of each month). A schedule will be provided!

PFI Toy Drive to Benefit Mattews Help Center

This holiday season, the Socrates Academy PFI's Sharing and Caring Committee is hosting a toy drive to benefit the Matthews Help Center.

Items should be appropriate for children ages newborn - 18 years.
All proceeds benefit impoverished local children
Items may be dropped off beginning Monday, November 27th in the labeled bins at each Elementary and Middle School Office
The Deadline for gifts is Friday, December 8th.

Midwood Smoke Shack Spirit Day - Don't Cook the Night Before Thanksgiving!

Come support Socrates on November 22^nd at Midwood Smokeshack from 12-8pm. 10% of the proceeds come back to support our students, so come out and enjoy lunch or dinner!
