Socrates Elementary Basketball (3 rd -5 th )
What: Socrates Academy students have the opportunity to play basketball with other Socrates Academy students within the Interfaith Basketball League (IFBL).
Who: Students in 3 rd -5 th grade, both girls and boys are put on separate teams within the IFBL League.
When: 1 st Practice will be November 8 th , with practices normally on Fridays after school. Game Season starting Saturdays December 7 th – February 9 th . Games are held either at Socrates Academy, surrounding church, or school campuses.

Cost: $120 per player or $100 each for siblings. Players get to keep their jerseys!

Sign Ups: Coach Pearl will open registration Oct. 11 th . Deadline: October 25 th .

Kindergarten Movie Night
Friday, October 25th from 6:30-8:00
 
Kindergartner scholars and their parents are invited to movie night following Curriculum Night. There will be pizza, chips, water, and Gatorade for sale. We will be showing two short films with a bathroom/GoNoodle break in between the two. The films are Spookley the Square Pumpkin and Room on the Broom.

General Admission Includes: Movie Admission, Popcorn & Water - $3

Mission to the Moon Robotics Club

Fourth and Fifth Grade Scholars
Mondays 3:45-4:45
October 21- December 16 (no class November 11)
 
 Our theme for this session is Mission to the Moon. We will learn what we need to survive to live on the moon and build our moon community using Lego sets. The scholars will also build and program LEGO® robots to think, move, and react through a series of challenges while learning several aspects of engineering: automation, problem-solving, and programming.

Our vendor has completed our shirts, and all orders are being fulfilled now. Attention All Book Lovers!!!
Our first Used Book Sale of the year will be during the week of October 14th-18th. All K-3 scholars will be able to shop during their library class. Fourth and fifth grade teachers will be able to make arrangements with Mrs. Mabon to bring their students as their schedules allow. 
Most of these books will cost 25 cents or 50 cents. There are a few "nearly new" books for $1.00.

Middle School Curriculum Night

4th & 5th Grade Game Night

Who : 4th & 5th grade
What : Night of board games, yard games, and popcorn. Parents drop their scholar off.

"OXI" Day Celebration
 
The "OXI DAY" Celebration will take place on Monday October 28, 2019, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in the Gym. Grades 3-5 will be leading the performance.

P.E. Uniform Ordering

If you missed the deadline to order P.E. Uniforms, you can order now. We have added sweatpants to the order form in the event that we ever get a break from this heat! The deadline to order is October 25th.


Hot lunch for November ordering is open and will close on Tuesday, October 15th.

Earn Double Volunteer Hours at Socrates Workdays!

Volunteers receive hours for each family member who comes to help. A family of 4 can earn 48 hours in a single day!

Proceeds benefit Socrates Academy Outreach week.

All grades are welcome to purchase tape strips to support the event. However, Elementary scholars will not be able to attend the event due to class schedules. If Elementary students purchase tape, it will be donated to a Middle School teacher to use during the event. Our teachers can't wait to be involved too!

Aloha Luau Middle School Dance

Mark your calendar! All Socrates Academy Middle School students are invited to the Aloha Luau Dance on October 11th from 7-9 p.m. Cost is $6 and tickets will be sold by student council the week before the dance. Price includes snacks, beverages and a DJ to spin the tunes.
