Happy Holidays

Baby Gear Rentals: Not enough room in the car to pack the baby for your next vacation? Prefer to rent a stroller, crib, or other baby items? Visit BabyQuip for a complete selection of baby-related items for rent. Local rep, Donja Carpenter, will drop off and pick up right at the cottage. She'll even consider ordering extra equipment if requested in advance.

A few Summer 2024 openings: If you're looking for a July/August vacation there are still some great availabilities. Hurry, before they're gone.

Movie & Drive-In Theatre Nostalgia: This region has some great opportunities year-round to go back in time to catch a movie. There are two wonderful nearby historic movie theatres plus a historic drive-in scheduled to re-open this spring. All of them are within 20-25 minutes away from the Point.

Rose City Drive-in -- So cool, a technologically updated version of an old-time drive-in is reopening in nearby Newark. After being closed for 40 years the new owners have been working hard on reconstruction and are now putting the finishing touches on Rose City Drive-In. Look for more details here.

Ohmann Theatre -- Built in 1915 the Ohmann has been fully restored to its original character. 2 screens show first-run movies Friday & Saturday evenings plus Sunday matinees.  Located in Lyons, the theatre is only a few minutes away from the local Del Lago Casino. A great outing could send the gamblers to the casino while the non-gamblers catch a movie.

Palace Theatre – The historic single-screen Palace Theatre, located in Wolcott, shows current movies Friday & Saturday nights plus a Sunday matinee.

Bring your ice skates: Weather permitting, the Village will soon install the ice rink in the park behind the tourism booth. Skating is free though you have to bring your own skates.

And don't forget the other winter fun at the Point such as snowmobiling, ice fishing, and so much more.

Local Fun & Services: Check here for list of local fun & services.

Roku Smart TVs: This winter we will be swapping in larger Roku Smart TVs in most bedrooms at the homes so you can lull yourself to sleep with your favorite streaming service account. As part of this swap DVD players are being eliminated in most bedrooms though one will still be provided in each living room with an assortment of DVDs to enjoy.

Waterfront Wine & Spirits is a locally owned liquor store less than 1 mile from the cottages at 7420 Route 14 serving customers by land & water. They're open year-round and for current hours check here.

Featured Restaurant - Franklin House Tavern: One of our favorites is the Franklin House Tavern. If visiting in winter, be sure to ask for the table by the fireplace. It's such a warm and inviting place with food and service that never disappoints.

New Keurig coffee makers coming: Thanks to all those that replied to our recent coffee survey, new Keurig combined 12-cup and single-cup coffee makers are to be installed in each home by mid-winter.
