National Sew a Jelly Roll Day!
(Copied from  Project Jelly Roll)
"Recent studies have shown that many quilters collect these pre-cuts without knowing what to do with them, without having a purpose.  The Jelly Roll in particular is left in it's original packaging and stacked on the shelf to gather dust.  Despite a huge resource of inspiration, many quilters report that they're waiting for a special reason to break out the Jelly Roll and use it for a project.
That's where Project Jelly Roll and the National Sew A Jelly Roll Day come in.  We're designating the 3rd Saturday in September of every year as National Sew A Jelly Roll Day to encourage collectors to tear open a Jelly Roll and make something."

Show & Tell
Julia spent lots of her time in the mountains sewing.  She's been visiting Jerrie and Jer and we sure enjoyed her being at the shop. Thanks for sharing your finished projects with us, Julia!

Esther shared some of her latest embroidery creations.  Lovely!!!

Carrie is so sweet to email me pictures of her projects from fabric she buys from Sassy Stitches.  Keep 'em coming, Carrie!

Jerrie made this cute pin cushion.  We have patterns!

Ryan's Case for Smiles
Our charity focus at Sassy Stitches is Ryan's Case for Smiles. This is an organization that provides fun pillowcases for sick children .  ALL of our donations will be used in Asheville, NC at Mission Children's Hospital. I volunteered for this charity for several years and have personally delivered pillow cases to kids at Mission Children's Hospital and assure you it brings great joy to sick children to pick out a fun pillowcase. When you read the story about Cindy and her son, Ryan, you will understand what a great cause this is. It's the perfect charity for anyone who sews! Here is a link to the organization's website.
We will accept pillowcases, fabric donations for making pillow cases and monetary donations. If you choose to make pillowcases, there are tips on the website (see link above) about making them. The volunteers who take the pillowcases wash them before delivery. Something so simple as a fun pillowcase really does bring a smile to a sick child.  THANKS!
