Soldier Field Parking Restrictions Begin This Saturday
Fans are back at Soldier Field which means parking restrictions in the South Loop will be enforced for all events with fans in the stands moving forward. On Saturday, April 17th at 7:30 pm the Chicago Fire will make their debut at Soldier Field for their 2021 Major League Soccer home opener. Based on current COVID-19 regulations, up to 9,000 fans will be allowed to attend the match, which will trigger parking restrictions in the South Loop. This means all vehicles parked on streets in the South Loop will need to display EITHER a residential permit parking (RPP) pass if parked in an RPP Zone, OR a Soldier Field Event parking pass/guest pass two hours before the game until one hour after the game.
Soldier Field parking passes that were distributed in July/August 2020 that display the year
2020-2021 are valid for use this Saturday and for all Soldier Field events through this fall. Businesses and churches will have one-day guest passes to distribute to their patrons.
If you need a replacement Soldier Field parking pass, the 3rd Ward Public Service Office at 5046 S. State St. will be handing out passes to residents and businesses on Friday, April 16th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Limit one pass and one guest pass per vehicle. Please bring proof of residency to receive replacement passes. Masks required and social distancing guidelines will be in place. Questions, please email
