The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is also known as the Feast of Corpus Christi, which translates from Latin to "Body of Christ." This feast originated in France in the mid-thirteenth century and was extended to the whole Church by Pope Urban IV in 1264.

The Solemnity calls us to focus on two manifestations of the Body of Christ, the Holy Eucharist and the Church. The primary purpose of this feast is to focus our attention on the Eucharist.

Mass Readings Here

Our faith teaches us that when we gather to celebrate Mass, Jesus is present to us. The bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of Christ. This is what we mean by the word transubstantiation: Jesus makes himself present to all who receive the Body and Blood of Christ.

How God Feeds Us

Please pray for the health of Beverly Gates, Bob Becker, Colette Peters, Steve Dabrowski, Larry Blasius, Tracy Parker, Roselyn Cowell, Sr. Kathleen McCafferty and pray for a special intention for strength and mercy.

Come spend a few minutes in the garden before or after mass, or whenever you want! Rain or shine it's always available to you.

We've seen Jean and Tony stopping by to work on beautifying the surroundings of the church. Thank you so much Antonellis!

And, notice how the flowers in the church change so often, and according to our themes. We have Chris Piatak to thank for keeping things fresh and so beautiful! (see her parishioner profile in the book in the back of the church).

We are still looking for some sort of picnic table or outdoor furniture (adirondack chairs) for the staff at the Catholic Charities offices. Call if you have anything to offer. TU!

The Parish Year of Revival

Here are five things WE can do to kick off the Parish Revival.

  1. Join us for one or all the Ballpark Masses taking place this summer. Online registration is now open!
  2. Sign up for the Heart of the Revival e-newsletter to stay connected to what the National Eucharistic Revival is all about. Also, download the National Eucharistic Revival app from your favorite app store for access to free videos and audio resources on the Eucharist.

The safest and easiest way to donate (where your whole dollar comes to the parish) is through your bank's online banking bill payment. As many parishioners have done, set us up with a monthly donation and avoid the costs of mailing envelopes and donate button fees. Thanks!
