Oratory T-shirt Sale Continues

T-shirt season has arrived, and with it the latest fashion to hit the streets of Brooklyn (and beyond). You may have spotted fashionable and faithful parishioners at the St. Philip Neri picnic last Sunday. You may have asked yourself how you can get one of these t-shirts.

The good news? We sold out! Thanks to generous supporters, t-shirt sales raised $675 to purchase items for our sister parish in Turkana.

Even better news? The Oratory is reordering the t-shirts. You can purchase yours after the 11:15am Mass at St. Boniface on June 14.

The Progress of an American Pope

What have we learned about Pope Leo XIV during his first year in office? Is he “Pope Francis’ last surprise” who will follow through on his vision, or is he carving his own path? How will he steer a church whose future may no longer lie in the West but in the Global South?

America Magazine has been covering the Leo XIV pontificate since day one. Join editors Tim Reidy and Kerry Weber for a conversation about what they have learned so far and what to expect from Leo as he finds his voice at the Vatican.

Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Bishops of the United States have announced that on Thursday, June 11 they will consecrate the country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This event coincides with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The bishops are inviting dioceses, parishes, and individual Catholics across the nation to join them in prayer. The following day, Friday, June 12, the Church will celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. In anticipation of the consecration on June 11, the Oratory Parishes will join in prayer for our nation during the Masses on June 6–7.

📖 Scriptural Study: Overview of the Wisdom Literature of the Old Testament

“Happy the one who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding! She is a tree of life to those who grasp her, and those who hold her fast are happy.” Proverbs 3:13,18. Please join us for an overview of the seven wisdom books of the Old Testament. These are a treasured collection that often give us the daily liturgical readings and serve as a source of spiritual reading. Jesus drew heavily from their themes during his public ministry. This session is an introduction for other classes later in the year, looking at particular wisdom books, such as Job, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes.

Sick and Deceased of the Parish

Mass Intentions

It has been a long tradition in the Church to offer Masses for people to pray, especially for the dead, seeking God’s grace, mercy, and spiritual benefits through Christ’s sacrifice. Usually a modest donation is given for this. In the coming weeks we have several Masses with no particular intentions. If you would like to have a Mass offered for someone (living or deceased), email the parish office at info@oratorychurch.org or click here.
