Q - Do I have to know about golf?
A - With 2,000 volunteers providing a world class experience for our participants and fans, you don’t need to be a golf fan or even know about golf. There are opportunities for golfers and non-golfers alike.
Q - What will I be doing as a volunteer?
A - To name a few...
-
Be an Ambassador … help our fans find their way around the golf course, equip them with information and show them our warm Toledo hospitality.
-
Be the first to welcome our fans in Admissions … make sure that our spectators enter the grounds safely and efficiently.
-
Work in the Merchandise Tent … as a cashier, cashier assistant or a greeter and witness retail in action. Lots of great Solheim Cup swag will be sold during the week in our massive air conditioned Merchandise Tent.
-
Register for Transportation and drive our VIPs to and from the airport. Most shifts will be at the beginning of the week and after the tournament, so you can enjoy lots of tournament action with the credentials provided in your volunteer package. (Vehicles provided by the tournament).
-
Interested in helping support the supply chain behind the scenes? Work in the Service Center, the designated area for all tournament supplies, radios and equipment.
Q - What does the volunteer package include?
A - What doesn't it include is a better question! There are volunteer packages for adults and students that include:
- Cutter & Buck apparel and hat
- Your credentials for the week
- Refreshments during your shifts
- Parking on your volunteer days
- An invitation to our volunteer party on Sunday, August 29th.
A grounds ticket for the week is valued at $175 and this package includes that and so much more! But beyond what is in your package, you will be part of a once in a lifetime experience, right here in our backyard.
Q - Can I sponsor or support a volunteer or group of volunteers?
A - YES YES and YES! We want this opportunity to be accessible for everyone! As employers, consider supporting your employees to participate as volunteers! Support them financially or with time off to participate.
As ambassadors and community champions, please consider sponsoring a volunteer or group of volunteers. To do so, contact Heather Warga at hwarga@marathonclassic.com.
Q - When do I have to register by?
A - We are nearing the deadline for purchasing our uniforms to arrive in time for tournament week. To ensure we have your uniform size, please register by Wednesday, August 4th!
Q - Finally... how do I register?
A - It's simple! Click this link and you are there!
