Remember that '70s expression, "It's solid, man"? In case you're too young to remember it or never heard it before, it was said when something was really cool. It also meant a gracious or friendly act. Well, do yourself a "solid" and get over to Solid Grill and Bar located in the Bodo district of downtown Boise. Owners Jeremy Aevermann and Elizabeth Oldenkamp attached Solid to their existing nightclub establishment, Liquid, because one cannot live on liquids alone. Solid is quickly becoming a local favorite with their colorful and unique d�cor, spot-on service, original menu and not one, but two happy hours! Chicken and waffles a Southern food you say? Not anymore. Solid offers the best chicken and waffles west of the Mississippi. Hankering for a juicy prime rib or burger? They have both, plus a wide variety of other sandwiches, salads and a "late night breakfast" that's to die for! They take some traditional foods and put their own spin on them. They're open until 4 a.m. for breakfast on Fridays and Saturdays and have 2 for 1 happy hour drinks from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., for the after work crowd and from 10 p.m. to 12 p.m. for your late night party desires. At Solid, they offer nine types of beer that are brewed right in Boise and they use local ingredients and produce in their offerings as much as possible.
