Executive Director Seeking

Solidarity with South Sudan the inter-congregational project promoted 16 years ago by the UISG and USG, and now providing essential and impactful service to the people of South Sudan, is seeking the next Executive Director.

Fr. Jim Greene, of the Missionaries of Africa, will complete his term in March 2025. We immensely appreciate his exceptional service, characterized by passionate dedication and generosity.

We will therefore begin a new chapter in our journey together to continue supporting the people of South Sudan on their path to peace, stability, and self-reliance. We need a visionary and compassionate leader, male or female, consecrated and approved by the Superior General, who has a deep commitment to social justice and a passion for serving those in need.

Harvest in Abundance at the Kindergarten

The Saint Dominic and Savio nursery school in Riimenze, as part of Solidarity's community development project, welcomes more than 250 children, who every day have the opportunity to learn and experience new things.

The Headteacher along with the staff of the school took up the initiative of organising a farm so that the children might have a better diet.

Everybody was involved. Some people were hired to help to cultivate the land. They put different seeds into the soil, did the weeding and now everyone is happy harvesting the maize, groundnuts and beans. Read more

School Practice for STTC

Final semester Inservice students (work & study students) and the Preservice students (Fulltime students) were on school teaching practice in the neighbouring primary schools. STTC used the ‘lesson observation template’ from the National Curriculum School Inspection Framework; connecting the student experience of school placement with the real-life inspection regime of the Ministry.

Throughout their month-long placement, they applied the classroom management strategies they have studied that support effective learning and inclusion. Class sizes vary greatly - up to 130 pupils this time round - as does the classroom equipment, with many children still without benches. Teaching Practice was assessed by STTC tutors and also by two external examiners from the University of Juba. All the students successfully got through.
