VENDOR PROFILE: Alaska Wildlife Images by Didier Lindsey
|
Born in Bordeaux, France, in 1957, Didier Lindsey has been a full-time wildlife and nature photographer since 1991 and an Alaskan since the mid-80s. He grew up in a small town in Virginia.
Alaska drew him specifically to become a wildlife photographer, and he's made 100% of his income from it. Didier was a vendor off and on during the Anchorage Market & Festival's early years, but this summer is his first as a full-time vendor. "I love the opportunity to meet so many different people from all over the world," he says. "That's what makes the market special. When people ask me where my favorite place in Alaska is to photograph, I always tell them the same answer: 'Wherever I'm headed to next.'"
Didier sells traditional photography and the new metal aluminum prints. With few exceptions, he does all of the matting and framing in his booth using top of the line materials. Many of his images are limited editions. Visit his website at http://alaskawildlifeimages.com.
Didier is proud that he's been able to make a living doing what he loves-photographing nature. And he gives his wife, a professional dance instructor and dedicated mom, credit for her support. Their two kids attend the University of Alaska Anchorage.
