Home of the 2026 Olympic Trials!!

We are thrilled to announce that Prince George will make history as the first Northern BC city to host Olympic Trials in any sport! From December 10–16, 2025, the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club will proudly host the Nordiq Canada 2026 Olympic Winter Games Trials.

This prestigious event will determine the athletes who will represent Canada in cross-country skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina.

With our world-class facilities, a dedicated team of volunteers, and the generous support of our funding partners, Caledonia Nordic is ready to welcome the nation and shine a spotlight on the strength and spirit of Northern BC.

Stay tuned—race schedules and volunteer opportunities will be announced later this summer!

Roller Ski & Biathlon Camps:

July 10-27

Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is excited to welcome athletes and coaches for two high-performance summer training camps:

  • Cross Country Ski Camp: July 10–15
  • Biathlon Camps: July 17–27

Throughout these dates, the roller ski trail network will be in active use for both training and competition. For everyone’s safety, we kindly ask all members and trail users to:

  • Respect all signage and closures along the paved trails.
  • Yield to roller skiers at all crossings—they have the right of way (reminder, no brakes!!)
  • Avoid the using the paved trail network during training times, please use our vast network of singletrack or Nordic ski trails instead (they are beautiful.
  • Observe stanchions across crossings—these indicate the crossing is closed.

You will see signage posted in the main stadium and along the roller ski loops. These measures help ensure a safe experience for all trail users and support the success of our visiting athletes.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! Watch Facebook for Training Times to ensure you have a great experience

Fire Ban in Effect – May to October

In response to ongoing wildfire risks across the region, the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club will be implementing a seasonal fire ban on club property from May through October each year.

This ban includes all open fires and campfires, regardless of size or location. As always, the facility remains strictly no smoking or vaping at all times.

The safety of our community, our users, and the surrounding environment is our top priority. We appreciate your cooperation in helping to protect the forest and ensure the long-term sustainability of our trails and facilities.

Let’s all do our part to keep the club safe for everyone—thank you for your support.

Trail Expansion Updates

Thank you once again to all members who shared their thoughts during the recent engagement process. With over 203 formal survey responses—and many additional conversations and comments—your input has played a critical role in shaping the direction of this project.

We are pleased to inform you that we will be moving forward with the Terus Trail Expansion to be ready for the 2025-26 ski season.

In response to member feedback and site assessments, the final trail alignment includes some minor adjustments from the original concept map. These changes were made to improve flow, skier experience, and to reflect environmental priorities. Construction is set to begin after August 15 to respect the local bird nesting season.

Key highlights of the planning and review process include:

  • Final routes were selected with a focus on protecting environmental values, supporting grooming efficiency, and maintaining a high-quality Nordic experience.
  • Fieldwork was completed by qualified natural resource professionals, including assessments of streams, wildlife habitat, biodiversity, and old growth areas.
  • CNSC is working with the Province of BC to secure additional permits required under the Water Sustainability Act.
  • As always, we are committed to being responsible stewards of the land—going above and beyond regulatory requirements to protect this area.
  • This expansion is only possible through strong partnerships: we are operating with permission from Terus (private landowner), in collaboration with Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, and with respect for neighbouring landowners on Cranbrook Hill.

We look forward to creating new opportunities for our members while ensuring thoughtful, sustainable development. More updates will follow as construction gets underway—stay tuned!
