Some Gave All!!! 5/29/22
Revelation 12:11 (KJV)
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
“THEY LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES UNTO THE DEATH”
Revelation 2:10 (KJV)
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
“BE THOU FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH, AND I WILL GIVE THEE A CROWN OF LIFE”
Easier SAID than DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This message today is ANOTHER sermon I preach “under protest!”
I am exhausted AGAIN, having logged very few hours of sleep AGAIN, and the subject is one I personally fear and loath to enter..
Today is MEMORIAL DAY, the day we have set aside to HONOR those who heeded the above Scriptures and forfeited their very LIVES to save others.
It is NOT a HAPPY Memorial Day!!!
I stand today in GRATEFUL awe and wonderment of any and all who heed this heroic CALL of God on their lives and rightfully wonder if I would ever have the COURAGE and commitment to fulfill Jesus' CALLING.
Before penning (typing) this message I placed a call to a dear friend and fellow “pastor” who served as a police officer his entire life and humbly requested I not name-I wanted to hear “from the horses mouth” a professional opinion of someone who actually is a HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was AWAKENED this morning (PRAISE THE LORD FOR AWAKENING AGAIN to an air conditioned house and food in the pantry and somewhat security) to my son's call from prison-I have to take these calls as I cannot return a prisoner's calls. BTW several prisoners call frequently for help, PRAYER and consultation, all COLLECT calls provided by the funds received from YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My son has earned the PRIVILEGE and duty of a trustee that daily helps provide for the needs of his fellow inmates.
He sadly reported the suicide of one such inmate last night and Joshua was lamenting the fact that he had FAILED to realize the dire condition of the man he had been helping for several weeks-He, my son Joshua, had FAILED to preach the Gospel effectively to this hurting soul and possibly affect a better outcome than his choosing death over life.
As I learned of the TRAGIC mass killing of innocent children this past week, I, PERSONALLY wondered what I would have done in this horrific situation???
Would I, DOUG DRUCKER, have been willing to “lay down MY life” for others????
John 15:13 (KJV)
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Would I have had the courage to be the first man leading the charge, well knowing that most likely I would not live any longer???????????????????????????????
This, beloved, in the daunting question each of us must attempt to answer.
My HEORIC professional police officer replied to my question that that is the CALLING only a soldier and police officer and first responder must DAILY face.
Is today the day I too “love not MY life unto death???”
The old axiom is still sadly true:
“ALL GAVE SOME SOME GAVE ALL”
TODAY, as we enjoy the extra holiday and day off we honor those who did, indeed, GIVE ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And WE, as soldiers of the Cross also need to ask ourselves the question DAILY:
“Are WE giving at least some to Christ' cause and do WE have the courage to give ALL??????????
Do WE “LOVE NOT OUR LIFE UNTO DEATH????????????????”
God Bless You on this most sacred day!!!
