Iberia Parish President Larry Richard has released new guidelines for local businesses that were not deemed essential or were not expressly prohibited from operating by the governor's stay-at-home order to reopen.
Last week, Richard says he put together a committee of 30 people including medical professionals, mayors, business owners, police, legal counsel, members of the local chamber, etc. Together they drafted the new guidelines for more businesses to open. According to the parish president, Governor Edward's legal counsel signed off on this order.

The business falling under the criteria can open if they:
  • Require social distance
  • Follow 10 person gathering limit
  • Follow the curfew set in place for the parish
  • Occupancy limit at 20% of the state fire marshal's limit
  • Recommend voluntary face coverings
