NEW PASTOR IN HUNTINGTON BEACH

Lucas Park has been overwhelmingly affirmed to become the lead pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Huntington Beach, CA. He will be in the office on August 1, and Calvary will have an installation service on Sunday evening, August 13, to welcome Lucas and Sue, along with their three kids, to Calvary. | |
Mel and Rachel are planning to move to Guam on September 20 to start work on our new church plant on the island of Guam. However, Rachel is having surgery this Wednesday in Minnesota, where they are currently living, and would appreciate your prayers. | |
On Sunday, July 2, Pastor John Ploog announced his retirement, which will commence in August. Pastor John faithfully served as the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Whittier for 33 years! He also oversaw Whittier Christian Schools. Whittier Christian, while intended to educate the children from Calvary Baptist Church, attracted many families from the community, eventually expanding over the decades to many campuses, until it's closing in 2017. Pastor John has been a committed part of Pacific Church Network (Conservative Baptist Association of Southern California) over many years.
