SPECTRUMLY SPEAKING
November 2022
Hello!

We hope you and your family are all well and getting into the spirit of winter!

As the holiday season approaches and we make plans to get together with people that are truly important to us, it is a good time to think about those all important conversations that we should be having ~ discussions around financial goals and estate planning.

Although you may not want to broach this during a festive meal, begin to put your thoughts together and perhaps set a date for a family discussion in the New Year. If we can help with ideas on how best to approach these conversations, please reach out. We are always here to assist in any way we can.

Please continue to stay safe, stay in touch, and stay positive.

How Do We Raise Grateful
Children?

With Christmas fast approaching, considering our own tightening gift giving budgets this year, it makes us think about gratefulness.

If, as parents (and grandparents!) we can't afford the gifts we may have given in the past, have we raised our kids with enough gratitude to be truly thankful?

This article has some really great ideas from real parents -the simplest being, say please & thank you to your children, and explain why you are thankful.

What Does a Recession Mean for You?

It's no secret we may be heading into a recession, but what does that mean, and what could it mean for you, personally? A lot depends on how much debt you hold, be it a credit card, bank loan, or mortgage. Rising interest rates, rising inflation and stock market drops mean that we're spending more, and earning less.
This article from Sunlife goes into greater detail, and provides suggestions on how to get through this dip.
