Some Utility Customers May Receive Two Bills
Hamilton, Ohio - On December 1, 2016 utility bills were generated for Cycle 12 an area that includes addresses from Kenworth to Gorham on either side of Millville Ave on the west side of Hamilton. These bills were generated with an error in the Gas Cost Recovery (GCR) rider. The GCR was meant to be changed from $0.05/CCF to $0.04/CCF for bills generated on or after December 1, 2016. This GCR rider decrease is approximately $0.63 for the typical residential customer. These bills were to be discarded by the City's Mail Vendor, however, were mailed in error. The correct bill was then generated on December 2, 2016 with a due date of December 27, 2016 and was also mailed.

Customers are asked to please discard the bill dated December 1, 2016 with a due date of December 22, 2016 and make payment on the bill dated December 2, 2016 with a due date of December 27, 2016. The City apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused and rest assured that steps have been taken to prevent this type of error in the future. In the event customers have paid the higher amount of the December 1, 2016 bill, the over payment will be credited to their January bill.

The City of Hamilton owns and operates all four primary utilities, including electric, natural gas, water and wastewater systems. The City is one of the lowest cost utility service providers in the region and state. For further information, contact Utility Business Manager Nathan Perry at (513) 785-7217.
