The safety of our students is very important. Two things to remember when bringing or picking up students before and after school:
Morning drop off: The lane in front of the main entrance is to be used to drop off students only. Parking in this lane is not permitted.
Afternoon pick up: Parking or waiting in the lane in front of the main entrance of school is not permitted. Parents who are picking up students after school must remain in designated parking areas.
Emergency After HoursIf an emergency arises after the school office is closed for the day, please contact our Custodian, Ed Goen, at 616-389-4387.
Substitute Teachers Needed If you have interest in becoming a substitute teacher for ACS, please contact Brian Koetje @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held October 22 & 23 from 5:00-8:15 pm. An information sheet was sent home with your child two weeks ago! You only need to return this sheet IF you have a time that conferences will not work for you. Please be sure to return this sheet no later than Friday, October 5. Disease Information The information given below is furnished by the Ottawa County Health Department. We encourage you to closely follow the recommendations presented here or follow the instructions given by your family's physician. Please inform the school office when your child contracts a communicable disease.
The Ottawa County Health Department will be at ACS on November 16 for Hearing and Vision Screening. (K, 2, 4 for hearing and 1, 3, 5, 7 for vision)Michigan's Hearing and Vision screenings are available FREE of charge by Local Health Departments in collaboration with local schools; the programs are administered by the Michigan Department of Community Health. Instant Trip is held every Tuesday night from 7:00-7:30pm with a pick-up ONLY sessions every Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:00am. In order for us to run this program we need at least three volunteers at each session on Tuesday night and one volunteer every Wednesday morning. If you are interested in volunteering.
