Good Morning

Quite often when we pray we lay our burdens down and make all of our request known to God.  I'm not saying anything is wrong with this - the fact that you're even coming to God about a need or something you're going through is fine because He is the ultimate Waymaker...but today I want to challenge you to do something possibly slightly different then your normal routine.

The next time you go to God in prayer, I want you to pray the entire time for other people with not one request about your own particular need.

Prayer is the ultimate show of love as it places someone else's needs above our own.

Praying for others is actually sowing seed into someone else's life.  Your prayer for others actually ignites your own breakthrough because whenever you sow seed you always reap a harvest in return (whether sowing good seed reaping positive, godly results or bad, evil seed reaping havoc and confusion in one's life - Galatians 6:7)

Remember in the book of Job how satan's hand was released on Job's life so that he lost everything he had?  Though he lost it all and his wife even told him to "curse God and die" as she blamed his woes on the Lord (when really it was the devil) Job still acted in integrity by choosing to blame himself rather than God (which still wasn't accurate but at least he didn't curse his Maker) and then Scripture went on to give the key that unlocked Job's deliverance as he received double of all that was lost:

And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.  Job 42:10

So I'd like to encourage you to only pray for others' needs today, whether it's a family member in need of salvation or healing, a friend in need of encouragement or one who seems to always end up in wrong relationships as a result of low self-esteem, your pastor and first lady and their needs or current projects, a child or teenager who may have their own set of issues and feels "no one understands..."  Whatever the need may be, take it to God in prayer in prayer and allow God to work it all out on their behalf.

Sample Word prayer you can pray out loud for others while inserting their names (also known as the Ephesians prayer):

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

 16Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

 17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

 18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

 19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

 20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

 21Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

 22And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

 23Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 1:15-23

Enjoy your day and know that I love and pray for you!  Don't forget to pray for me as well ;)
