Dear residents,

Please see this week's Friday Announcements

4th of July Airing Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Somerset will be airing a recorded 4th of July event this year in lieu of our regular picnic at the Town Hall. The program will largely follow previous years' events.

We have partnered with Montgomery Municipal Cable to air the event at our regular time of 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. Residents can tune in by going to Channel 16 (on all cable providers: Verizon, Comcast, or RCN), or by going to the MMC website: MMCTV.org and clicking the watch live button. The event will stream on YouTube and allow for interactive comments.

Please tune in to see remarks from elected officials, the Declaration of Independence, cupcake contest winners, and more!

Pool Update and FAQ

We have put together a FAQ page to help residents better understand the process, which has been updated today.

I have received many phone calls and emails about the pool, and I share the frustration of it not opening. The new motor has been installed, and a phase converter is scheduled to arrive and be installed. We anticipate the County inspecting the pool next week, which would allow us to open.

Thank you for your patience, and feel free to reach out with any clarifying questions or comments.

Additionally, as a reminder, all residents are required to fill out the pool waiver before entering the pool this season. If you have not already done so, please complete the waiver at the following address:

Overgrown Vegetation

Several areas around Town have begun to grow to a point where it is obstructing traffic and pedestrians in the right-of-way.

As a reminder, residents are responsible for the maintenance of their vegetation in the right of way. Please be sure to cut back vegetation and plant growth in the sidewalks and Town right-of-way. The Town Code prohibits  plant growth on a resident's private property to extend into the right-of-way in such manner that interferes with pedestrian or vehicular traffic.

Please ensure that any structure, wall, fence, tree, hedge, shrubbery, or any other plant growth located on private property adjoining a right-of-way shall be maintained in such a manner and at such height that a clear and unobstructed view of the right-of-way is available to pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
