Dear residents,

Please see the this week's announcements.

Call for Committee Volunteers

Stormwater Study Committee

Following discussions and modifications to the proposed charter during the most recent mid-month working session, the Town Council approved the establishment of a Stormwater Study Committee (Study Committee) on August 3. To achieve its goal of defining any problems associated with stormwater runoff in the Town, analyzing the efficacy, costs, and benefits of possible solutions, and submitting a report, the Study Committee should meet monthly. The Study Committee shall consist of an odd number of members, with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 9 members. Ideally, the Study Committee will include a real estate professional, an attorney with expertise in land use law, a person with expertise regarding trees, a person with expertise in stormwater management, a person with expertise in conservation landscape design, and other residents with the time and interest to work on this intensive and time-limited study. Anyone interested in serving on the Study Committee (including those who have expressed an interest in the past) should contact the Mayor directly. Please provide a short biography and let him know why you want to volunteer - and confirm that you have the time available to dedicate to the effort. From the Mayor: “I am looking for people who will have an open mind to interpreting the research so it doesn't matter what their current views are!”

Public Safety Committee

The Town Council would like to resurrect the Public Safety Committee. The Public Safety Committee shall consist of an odd number of members, with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 9 members. Ideally, the Public Safety Committee will include a diverse group of residents with the time and interest to consider public safety issues and develop recommendations for the Town Council to consider. Anyone interested in serving on the Public Safety Committee should contact the Mayor directly. Please provide a short biography and let him know why you want to volunteer.

Cancelling Pool Reservations

A few residents have written saying they have been having trouble cancelling reservations at the Town Pool.

After walking through it with a couple of folks, I believe there is some confusion about the process. To cancel a reservation, please follow the below steps:

  • After logging in, under Membership select Manage Account.
  • In the blue ribbon, select My Reservations. A list of your account's reservations will pop up.
  • Each reservation has the option to "Manage" or "Cancel." Press the red Cancel button. A pop-up will ask you if you are sure you want to cancel the reservation. In the pop-up, select Cancel it. Voila!

The above steps are the only way to cancel reservations. I believe the confusion is that when people are in looking at the reservation calendar where you can make reservations, if you click on a time that you have already reserved there is a button that (confusingly) says "Cancel." However, this does NOT cancel your reservation, and only "cancels" the pop-up listing the reservation.

Please feel free to call into the Town Hall if you would like help with this process and we will be happy to help walk you through it.
