2020 Census

The deadline for the 2020 Census is fast approaching, and Somerset currently has a lower response rate than in 2010! It is critically important that all residents take the census this year, which is being done online, so that we receive adequate funding on things such as roads and highways, health clinics, schools, and many other important areas of need.

The Census takes just minutes to complete - please, if you have not done so already, click the link below and fill out your 2020 Census.

Tree Removal at Town Tennis Courts

Out of an abundance of caution the Town tennis courts will be closed on Saturday, September 19 due to dangerous yet emergency tree work which is going to be performed right over Court 3. The tree is on private property but the roots extend into the Town’s property and the branches extend over Court 3.

Due to the risk the tree poses to Somerset citizens playing tennis and to the courts, the Town has approved the removal of the tree and access through Town property.

I apologize for the inconvenience. However, a professional risk assessment of the tree was received this week has informed our decision and necessitated this urgent action.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Sincerely,

Matthew Trollinger
