We hope that you’re getting excited about the fall season right around the corner; and if your kids are back in school, then we know this means that you’re busier than ever! It's A Celebration! 130 Years of Heritage
|
|
Amassing 130 years of growth, innovation, and tradition is something worth celebrating, and Limoneira is doing precisely that! We are gearing up for a 130 Years of Heritage campaign in preparation for our anniversary celebration on March 4, 2023. Starting now, Limoneira will be sharing historical images, videos, and stories of our journey from being a two-person partnership to a global business with employees and partners across the world.
“Every new or old member of Limoneira is celebrated as another unique addition to our most important asset: our people,” commented Harold S. Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer. Many of the employees that compose Limoneira’s unique corporate culture have worked at the company for years, decades, and even generations. Harold Edwards is one such example.
Also, over the course of the campaign you’ll be hearing more about our sustainability practices, all of which began with land acquisition back in 1893. A healthy environment is a strategic play to ensure that our land will continue to successfully grow world-class citrus for another 130 years and beyond.

Limoneira’s CEO – Get to Know Harold Edwards!
|
|
As part of the 130 Year Celebration, Limoneira is excited to highlight Harold Edwards, the sixth CEO, and the Edwards family who have been a part of the Limoneira Legacy for 5-generations.
It seems that agriculture has been in Harold’s DNA! In 1883, Samuel Edwards purchased Orchard Farm with 1,043 acres where it raised lima beans, walnuts, and sugar beets. Eventually in 1930, it began cultivating lemons.
In 1906, Roger Edwards took over for his father and served as the Edwards Ranch Manager until 1946. During his time as manager, Roger was elected to serve on the California State Assembly in 1916 as a representative of Ventura County.
The late Dr. Samuel Edwards, father of Harold Edwards, was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran, Board-Certified Internist, and heavily involved in his family’s agricultural business. In 1986, Limoneira merged with Samuel Edwards Associates, nearly doubling Limoneira’s holdings at the time. Dr. Edwards would continue serving on the Board of Directors and, in 2003, became Chairman.
It seems that the lemon doesn’t fall far from the tree! Since Harold became CEO, Limoneira has experienced a period of massive growth – including developing the One World of Citrus™ to provide quality citrus 365 days of the year, becoming a publicly traded company, growing global customer base to 870 ship-to-points, receiving numerous sustainability awards, and adapting through a global pandemic. We love how Limoneira has been growing and will continue to thrive under Harold’s leadership! You can read more about Harold and his vision for the future here.
