Look what's hatched at LSMNJ, just in time for Easter. Our adoption program has resurrected the Adoption Options name and has adopted a new logo for the program.

Some of you might recall this name was used several years ago to identify our adoption program. Well, we recently realized that the program could use its own identity in order to attract more birth parents considering adoption and prospective adoptive families -- to continue its long history of building forever families.

You see, LSMNJ began as an orphanage in 1904 and became a licensed adoption agency in 1948. The adoption program is at the heart of LSMNJ, and we constantly strive to live up to our well-established reputation. We are proud to work with families throughout the state who are looking to adopt infants as well as older children from the foster care system nationwide.

We continue to dedicate ourselves to providing the same services to those touched by adoption, including:
  • Private Adoptions
  • Relative Adoptions
  • Home Studies
  • Post-Placement Support
  • Birth Parent Counseling
  • Pre-Adoptive Counseling and Education
  • Court Reports
  • Search and Reunion Services
If you know of a family in need of our services, we would be happy to speak with them. Because we are a non-profit agency, our fees for the above services are extremely affordable. Call us at (800) 458-0651 or visit
HEARTS OF HOPE

A lovely spring night set the stage for the annual Hearts of Hope event, Thursday, March 30th, at Crane's Mill in West Caldwell. Nearly 140 people had a wonderful time at the Hearts of Hope event organized by LSMNJ.  The evening raised over $45,000 for
three of our programs: New Visions Homeless Day Shelter in Camden, the Good Samaritan Fund, and affordable housing ministries all benefited from the night's proceeds.

Special guests honored at this year's event included 14 of the original charter members of Crane's Mill. Guests played a variety of casino games all in the name of a good cause. The favorite of the night seemed to be roulette, where winning numbers kept guests happy. Nutrition Management provided a delicious assortment of dining delicacies. The seafood table and signature drink were each surrounded by an ice sculpture -- adding to the festive atmosphere of the night.

"If not for LSMNJ foundation board members and partners, the everyday shelter and comfort we offer through LSMNJ's diverse programs and services would not be possible," explained Beth Gebhart, executive director of mission advancement. Calling Hearts of Hope an all-around success, she noted, "The event was a real team effort--from members of the board, to the folks serving dinner--and everyone had a great time."
