Share your Italian Heritage at HPL!

Dear Hoboken,

Notice something new? The Hoboken Public Library has a new logo and look! We can't wait to share more with you over the next few weeks. For now, you'll see some new colors on our website, social media, and around the library.

We are excited to remind you about our upcoming recipe zine for Italian Heritage Month. As you may know, Italian cuisine is known for its rich flavors and diverse dishes - from pizza and pasta to iconic desserts like tiramisu and cannoli.

To celebrate this culinary heritage, the library is collecting and compiling a collection of original Italian recipes until September 15, 2023. Participating in this fun opportunity is easy - simply sign up by clicking here.

We have so much planned for the upcoming months, including more exciting reading challenges, Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, and events for all ages. Keep an eye on our newsletter and social media accounts for updates on our latest activities, and come visit us at the library to see what we have to offer!

As always, we want to thank you for your continued support and patronage of our library. We are here to provide you with resources, inspiration, and a welcoming space to explore the world of reading and beyond. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out to us. We are always happy to help.

Regards,

Jennie Pu

Library Director

The Fifth Wound: A Novel

by Aurora Mattia

"The Fifth Wound is a phantasmagorical roman à clef about passion as a way of life. In one dimension, this is a love story--Aurora & Ezekiel--a separation and a reunion. In another, we witness a tale of multiple traumatic encounters with transphobic violence. And on yet another plane, a story of ecstatic visionary experience swirls, shatters, and sparkles. Featuring time travel, medieval nuns, knifings, and t4t romance. The Fifth Wound indulges the blur between fantasy and reality. Its winding sentences open like portals, inviting the reader into the intimacy of embodiment--both its pain and its pleasures."
