Thank you to all the members and speakers who joined us at Island Orchard Cider for our spring fling.  Special thanks to Bob, Yannique, Mary, John and Nick for the absolutely fabulous meal made with local ingrediants and special recipes using their cider.  In addition to a great meal, we had a fun and informative evening while creatively using the IOC production space adjacent to the tasting room.   Click here to see more photos on our facebook page.

All fired up for new workshops in the Forge at The Clearing Folk School
It was a beautiful day for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Forge at the Clearing Folk School. When Mike Schneider, Executive Director, rolled back the garage size door the crowd was treated to a very creative idea to cut 10 ribbons. The ten ribbons gave The Clearing an opportunity to recognize the many dedicated and generous people who contributed to the success of this new opportunity. Each ribbon was cut by those who were recognized and they briefly spoke about their involvment, experience, and appreciation for the project.Following the ribbon cutting the crowd moved into the Forge for refreshments and a demonstration. Classes for the Forge workshop began this week and participants are really fired up! Check out the link below to see the diverse workshop programs offered at The Clearing Folk School

National Travel and Tourism Week
May 7th-15th
This year's theme shines a spotlight on the power of travel by recognizing the millions of people who keep this industry strong:
the Faces of Travel
This industry supports the livelihoods of more than 15 million Americans, whose careers have blossomed. And it is one place where the right things matter most-reliability, hustle and attitude. These are the people who help others connect because hospitality runs in their DNA, fueling the travel industry's continued success. These are the jobs and the people we should be celebrating.

Door County Visitor Bureau's Tourism Week Breakfast will be May 10th at Stoneharbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay.
